The train can accommodate a motorized scooter if it is no wider than 25 inches. There is a special lift to lift the scooter onto the train.
Please note: Arizona doesn't observe Day Light Savings and switches between MST (Mountain Standard Time) and PST (Pacific Standard Time) depending on the season.

Fun different experience. Best with kids. Loved the ride there. Going back was a little long. Entertainment was geared toward kids.

We traveled as four adults and two elementary age boys. We purchased the observation dome car, and thoroughly enjoyed our experience, from the Wild West show pre train ride to the entertainment on board and the train robbers on the return. We even got to see four springbok antelopes racing the train! Our host for our car was Mark, and he did a great job.

We have been extremely impressed with the Xanterra employees. Everyone of them provided great customer service. From the staff on the train, to the amazing breakfast presentation and the fruit and meat and cheese trays in First Class on the ride home, to the shuttle bus drivers in the park, to the fabulous wait staff at Spencers Pub in the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. The National Park would be improved if they turned it over to Xanterra. I am sure then there would at least be a movie at the visitors center. The National park was a disappointment but the train ride was fun!!
