I'm the driver when we are overseas, and I had covered many miles on this trip, so it was nice to be able to sit back and relax and let someone else do the driving. Not to mention there was a lot of snow on the road, something we rarely have in Australia, so that was another reason to stay out of the car.
We had a very funny host on the PA, and she delivered quite a few zingers. There was food and drink available, with a nice morning tea.
Surprisingly, the scenery on the way up was a little boring, just a lot of tundra, but that was a good chance for a read and a snooze. When we got to the Grand Canyon though - wow, as you crest the hill and see it for the first time, it takes your breath away. Stunning.
They did a wild west thing on the train, which was nice if a bit naff, but they also had a couple of guys playing guitar to entertain you and they were very good.
A really enjoyable day. Efficient and friendly staff
