It was very interesting. Our guide (who, by the way, was a history teacher) gave us so much information that, at a certain point, I started taking notes! We learned about the origins of gospel music but also about human rights, the architecture, history and socio-economic context of Harlem. The gospel mass was very good!

Thank you for your feedback! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the Harlem Gospel Experience Tour and found it so enriching. With your guide’s expertise as a history teacher, it’s no wonder the wealth of information inspired you to take notes! From gospel origins to Harlem’s history and architecture, we’re glad it was memorable. The gospel mass was a fantastic highlight, too. We hope to see you on another tour soon!

Guide never turned up. No help in getting new guide. Had to wait two hours for church service. Not much information given and huge big group.

Unfortunately, the guide had an unexpected personal emergency, preventing him from attending the tour at the last minute. This situation had never occurred before, and it is not something we would ever want to happen. In light of the circumstances, we did everything possible to address the issue. We offered refunds to every customer and arranged for the tour director to escort anyone who wished to the local church where we had made reservations. We deeply regret any inconvenience this caused and want you to know that this is not the outcome we desire for our guests. We take great pride in our reputation for excellence and strive to provide the highest quality of service. Again, our deepest apologies, and please feel free to contact us for a refund if you have not already done so.

Donald was a great tour guide for our walking tour of Harlem. He was really informative and kept the 2 hour tour really interesting and we learnt about the history of Harlem and how gospel music (actually so much music) all came from original slave chanting and morphed into different forms. The 3 hour gospel church service was enthusiastic although you could leave early if you wanted (a lot of people did). There is pressure to tip both guide and make a reasonable donation in the church - but it really is up to you.
