I went on a hiking trip in the western National Parks with 3 friends and, for a number or reasons, I didn't adequately prepare. 2 of my friends are excellent hikers who take off fast and don't look back. John was great with all of us. He quickly assessed our abilities and reassured me that I would be fine. And I was. It was great. He rotated amongst the 4 of us to encourage all and gently "mush on" those who were slower. When we were done he made us a delicious lunch while we chatted about the amazing views and overwhelming beauty of the area.

We are a family of four with two 11 year old kids and we wanted to do more than just look over the edge and see the Grand Canyon. We wanted an authentic hike into the canyon, experiencing all the splendor it has to offer. We were nervous going it alone, so we booked Jon’s private guided hike for the family. This turned out to be the highlight of our two-week family vacation! Jon took care of everything making sure we were fully prepared with all the right equipment, appropriately dressed, well-hydrated and fed. He was so great with the kids, he brought the canyon to life and we were so proud of ourselves for completing the hike. With Jon’s expertise, we had a an amazing experience. I cannot rave enough about Jon’s guided Grand Canyon Tour!!

Our trip with Jon was amazing, I would easily give more than 5 stars if I could. He was able to accommodate a change in plan with no problem and helped prepare us for a healthy comfortable hike. As we hiked, he taught my wife and I how to properly use our walking poles (there are always tricks of the trade!) while also explaining how to eat before and during the hike (things I should have remembered from Scouts!) – as we went along, he also explained the history of the area and some interesting information about the trail itself all in addition to some general fun conversation. We walked out of the edge of the area we were in where he made us a delicious lunch (wraps). We have since used this and some other of his recipes on our own backpack trips. Thanks for the great time, Jon, we really appreciated it.
