This tour was incredible, but mainly because of our guide. A knowledgeable lady from Alabama, she was the center of it all. Learning about her life and hearing her perspective was the highlight. We went through Harlem and ended the tour with an absolutely gorgeous gospel concert. If you need soul music, this is for you. The history, the sights and the sounds are unique to NYC. Thanks to our tour guide, a true “Renaissance” woman. We didn’t have cash to tip her, and this will haunt me. She said she’d been in NYC since the 1970s, so I hope tour goers get the opportunity to travel around with her. I hope this review reflects positively on her light and gifts. YOU MUST ATTEND THIS TOUR!

I would recommend this tour to everyone who has 3 hours of spare time in NYC. During the bus ride to the church, our guide told us many stories about the life in Harlem now and then, about well-known black people, she also mentioned several interesting jazz clubs and signature restaurants as well as many important sights. The concert at the church is an unforgettable experience in many ways. Members of the choir are tallented and warm-hearted people and the concert itself is unparalleled! It is one hour of unequaled singing of songs the lyrics of which are deep and occasionally very touching. A unique and truly different tour!
