This tour surpassed my expectations in terms of the profundity and insights I gained into the Hasidic Jewish community. Frida is an excellent guide, giving us a very balanced view of how it is like to live as a member of this community. It is heartwarming, realistic and showed us outsiders how complex it is, just like how life is for you and me really, but with an added dimension of community and conformity. I liked that we weren't gawking at the community. Because of Frida, it felt simply like visiting a friend's neighbourhood. She's extremely generous - the tour stops at 2 food places and she pays for all the food. I really enjoyed all the flavours and couldn't stop wolfing down the goulash and potato latkes! In terms of logistics, everything was so well-organised. Meeting point was easy, and we even had audio systems to hear her better as we walked along the streets. I definitely recommend this tour as an off-the-beaten-track rare glimpse into a real part of New York.

I can't recommend this tour enough - absolutely amazing. I am so grateful and respectful of Frieda for sharing her personal experiences and all the fascinating intricacies of the community. I often walk through the area to get my delicious pastries and I am now more cognizant and understanding of the cultural customs. An extremely engaging tour through Williamsburg, Frieda explains schools, social life, streets, stores, behaviors, traditions and answers all your questions along the way. I didn't even notice the rainy weather as I was so enthralled. Headsets are provided to ensure you can hear Frieda while enjoying at a leisurely pace. I loved the stops along the way for delicious culinary delights, and Gottlieb's for lunch at the end of the tour. Thanks again Frieda :)

This is the fourth year we've spent Christmas in New York but our first time to stay in Brooklyn. Consequently, I was on the lookout for interesting things to do in that borough. The tour of Hasidic Williamsburg with Frieda far exceeded our expectations and is one of my favorite things I have ever done in NYC. Frieda was so warm, friendly and engaging, but that's always true of good tour guides. What really set her tour apart was the way she has an insider's expertise about this very closed community and the way she communicated so openly and honestly. No questions were off limits. If you have any interest in learning more about this religious sect, touring with Frieda is the way to go. You'll have an inside look at a world that is otherwise closed to you presented by someone who understands the community well. I felt very privileged to take this tour and am truly grateful to Frieda for doing what I consider a service to humanity.
