We took the covered wagon trip with our granddaughters, ages 7 and 11, while visiting the Princess Denali Lodge in conjunction with our Alaskan cruise. Great inter-generational fun! Christy, our guide, had only been doing this about a week I think she said but she was fantastic! Kept us entertained with stories of the area and got all of us sharing our Alaskan experiences. Sophia was our driver. She did a great job getting us there and back.
I wish Christy had told us how much food would be served at dinner! Everyone in our wagon sat together and ate family style. Salads, veggies, cornbread, chicken, ribs, and salmon served by Christy. Oh, and tea, soda, hot chocolate, and wine. After dinner, we got to pet our horses, Rocky and Turbo, and take pictures with them!
The weather was fairly mild but the wagon is open on both ends. There are blankets on the wagon to cover up with but I would recommend dressing for warmth- you are outside in Alaska after all. The meal is served inside.
A great way to enjoy the beautiful Alaskan countryside! Thank you, Christy, Sophia, Rocky, and Turbo!
