Black Hills National Forest

Once the balloon is ready, you’ll gently take to the skies for an approximate 1-hour flight over the Black Hills National Forest. If you are new to ballooning, you’ll be surprised at the silence and serenity you’ll find high above the treetops. It’s truly magical. Upon landing, the ground crew will pack the balloon while you and your pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Flights depart at sunrise and are weather dependent and always at the discretion of your experienced pilot.

Terrific experience, floating over the earth in the early morning light was totally relaxing, peaceful and very therapeutic. Damien ( fellow Irish man and boss) and his crew had everything prepared, test balloon up and we were on our way. Watching crew inflate balloons was amazing, then we were floating above the majestic sights of the black hills, lakes, tree tops and animals. A totally unique experience that can only be appreciated by completing a flight. Landing was a bit jolting, but safe. Damien then gave a short history on balloon flying, accompanied by champagne, orange juice and snacks. Perfect finish to a perfect morning.

I surprised my 13 year old daughter with the tour. I'm not a fan of heights. Wasn't sure I could get over my fear to do it! Our trip was spur of the moment (10 hour drive) so when I saw this tour option, decided the time was right. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect morning! The entire process of setting up. Inflating. Climbing into basket, then up up and away..... the thrill of a lifetime. Serene sums it up! The cheese and champagne after landing was a special touch! It takes a crew. Thank you Mike (our pilot) and the entire crew for making a bucket list activity, memorable.
