When we were planning our stop in Icy Strait, Alaska we wanted to get away from the commercial/tourist area right around the port and explore the local town. So we looked here on Trip Advisor and found good reviews for this adorable crab restaurant, owned by a local couple, with a fun tour option.
Todd and Srisa were both so friendly and welcoming. Todd gave the tour and it was a lot of fun and really informative. It was especially neat to haul in and pick out our own live crabs (no frozen crabs here!!) The tour of the village, wood working demonstration, and seeing where they picked the berries they used in our dessert was also a lot of fun. But my favorite part was learning the history of their restaurant. It’s a beautiful building with incredible views over the water, a lovely patio with hand built seating areas, and I appreciated the clean bathroom! I think my son’s favorite part was when Todd showed him how to cook and clean his own crab. The crab was delicious and Srisa’s Thai dipping sauce was a perfect addition! The whole experience was a solid 5 stars.
