You MUST be able to swim unassisted in the ocean to book this Beginner Scuba Dive.

Private Scuba Diving is REQUIRED when your group has a novice swimmer. Look for our private tour in a separate listing.

If your swimming ability is misrepresented, it will lead to removal from this beginner scuba dive and NO REFUND.

Public transportation options are available nearby
Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age to participate is 10.
Guests should be able to carry a minimum of 30 pounds for a short distance.
After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more.
Guests MUST be comfortable swimming in the ocean to complete this scuba diving tour. If you book this tour but cannot swim, you forfeit your participation in the experience as well as your right to a refund.
Must be able to answer NO to each question on the Medical Statement. A YES answer requires a doctor clearance. Failure to secure a doctor clearance when needed forfeits the ability to dive and the right to a refund. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers ahead of time for a copy of the medical form if you have any health concerns that might affect your ability to dive.
Transportation not included. Please let us know if you will not have a rental car.
Not recommended for travelers with asthma or sinus medical conditions
Proficient SWIMMING ABILITY IN THE OCEAN IS REQUIRED. This means that you must be able to swim unassisted in the ocean.

My son and I were scuba certified in Monterey over a year ago and needed a refresher before our first warm water dive in Maui. Caitlin was an amazing instructor and guide, refreshed the equipment set up and checks and even did some brief in-water skills reviews which made us feel really comfortable for our two dives. She is very knowledgeable, fun and patient and I was super excited to see the amazing colors of the reefs, an eel, an octopus and loads of turtles! Plus we have a collection of wonderful photos to remember our great day. She planned our two dives perfectly and we are ready for our next scuba trip. We will definitely come back and dive with Banyan Tree again, and can't wait til then. Highly recommend their company!

My 11 year old son and I did two dives with Caitlin. It was an amazing experienceand the instruction from Caitlin could not have been more personal and professional. Both of us were a bit nervous and she made us feel at ease through the entire day. This is a small husband and wife operation, not some churn out the activities for the tourist type excursion. When my son had trouble coming in to the shore w/ some decent shore break she pulled him back in twice to teach him the right way to exit the water. It probably didn't even phase Caitlin but to me it was like watching a coach that really cared about the skills the student would take away from the experience. I can't say enough good things about Banyan Tree Divers.

We take a lot of pride in keeping our dive experiences small and personal. It is great to read that you appreciate this kind of experience. Getting out of the water in shore break can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. It's counterintuitive to go back into the water because you want to get away from it! Your son stayed calm and stuck by his instructor the whole time. He's a rock star! We hope we get to dive with you again in the future.

It was a wonderful scuba dive, he was very professional, and had a great way of teaching you how to dive without any issues. We saw many wildlife and even a turtle. He is also very attentive and helpful even in groups. He is definitely the person you want guiding you on a scuba adventure.
