Private Scuba Diving is REQUIRED when your group has a novice swimmer. Look for our private tour in a separate listing.

If your swimming ability is misrepresented, it will lead to removal from this beginner scuba dive and NO REFUND.

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age to participate is 10.
Guests should be able to carry a minimum of 30 pounds for a short distance.
After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more.
Guests MUST be comfortable swimming in the ocean to complete this scuba diving tour. If you book this tour but cannot swim, you forfeit your participation in the experience as well as your right to a refund.
Must be able to answer NO to each question on the Medical Statement. A YES answer requires a doctor clearance. Failure to secure a doctor clearance when needed forfeits the ability to dive and the right to a refund. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers ahead of time for a copy of the medical form if you have any health concerns that might affect your ability to dive.
Transportation not included. Please let us know if you will not have a rental car.
Not recommended for travelers with asthma or sinus medical conditions
Proficient SWIMMING ABILITY IN THE OCEAN IS REQUIRED. This means that you must be able to swim unassisted in the ocean.

Let me just say I started diving in 1989 and have filled up 6 dive log books and stopped doing log books about 10 years ago. I'm a sceptical guy I have dove with Nitrox deep shallow you name it. I was very impressed with Kevin. Informative about nature and Maui customs great dive. The first dive for liability standards is a rated G dive. The Second dive is an absolute must. It was an epic dive white tip sharks, the turtle cleaning station where Pacific tropical fish swarm the turtles and pick all of the parasites was amazing. The turtles sleep in front of you as the fish peck away. Kevin our instructor has very good with the kids who got overwhelmed with a mask clearing issue and kept a positive vibe for both dives. We liked the dive so much we all bought Banyan tree T shirts. We will book again for sure.

I bought the introductory dive as a birthday present for my girlfriend. I chose to join her and try to face my phobia of the ocean, it was one of the best experiences of my life! We had Caitlin as our dive instructor, she was so patient! She had me down on the ocean floor in only a few minutes. Her calm and patient approach got me over my nerves and a small panic attack in minutes and even me going for a second afternoon dive! The first dive was at Airport beach where we saw some amazing coral, fish, eels and octopuses. The second dive was at Mala Wharf; this was a life changing experience! We swam with turtles, saw reef sharks and some of the most amazing ocean life! I would highly recommend these guys to anyone interested in learning to dive, or even if you are experienced and just looking for some good local knowledge on the conditions and dive sites!

We have booked probably 10 or more dives on multiple trips to Maui. The Banyan Tree team is extremely knowable about the dive sites, and diving in general. I would recommend them for anyone looking for shore dives in the West Maui area and I will continue to book with them on my future trips to Maui.
