Private Scuba Diving is REQUIRED when your group has a novice swimmer. Look for our private tour in a separate listing.

If your swimming ability is misrepresented, it will lead to removal from this beginner scuba dive and NO REFUND.

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Not recommended for pregnant travelers
Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age to participate is 10.
Guests should be able to carry a minimum of 30 pounds for a short distance.
After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more.
Guests MUST be comfortable swimming in the ocean to complete this scuba diving tour. If you book this tour but cannot swim, you forfeit your participation in the experience as well as your right to a refund.
Must be able to answer NO to each question on the Medical Statement. A YES answer requires a doctor clearance. Failure to secure a doctor clearance when needed forfeits the ability to dive and the right to a refund. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers ahead of time for a copy of the medical form if you have any health concerns that might affect your ability to dive.
Transportation not included. Please let us know if you will not have a rental car.
Not recommended for travelers with asthma or sinus medical conditions
Proficient SWIMMING ABILITY IN THE OCEAN IS REQUIRED. This means that you must be able to swim unassisted in the ocean.

My boyfriend and I heard about banyan tree divers from good friends who visited Maui last fall. We couldn't have been happier with our experience. This was our first scuba dive so we were both excited but nervous. Kevin helped assuage those nerves with his enthusiasm, experience, and encouragement. Within minutes of arriving we were being educated after about 15 minutes we were in the water practicing our skills. They keep their groups small which is nice for extra attention, and have really good gear which makes a big differnce. Kevin is very knowledgeable and knows where to find cool critters. In the span of about 40 minutes we saw so many different species of fish. We HIGHLY Recommend doing the additional dive. We were able to visit a second spot where we saw a couple of sharks and so many sea turtles that I lost count. The second dive was at a dilapidated pier which is a haven for so much life. Kevin and his wife Caitlin are an awesome team with a lot of verve and love for the water and its inhabitants. They've lived and dived all around the world so have a lot of experience teaching all sorts of folks. You'll feel welcome and in good hands with banyan tree divers.

I was looking to have my son doing his first dive and picked Banyan Tree Divers. I couldn't get a better service than this one. Kevin and Caitlin are very passionate and you can fill it. Kevin is an amazing teacher and put you really in confidence. It take the time to teach you everything you need to know before going into the water, and the repetitive gesture help a lot to memorize everything once you are in the water. My son loved so much the experience, we went for a second dive with Caitlin, it was a wonderful experience too. Pictures taken during the dives are amazing too.

My teenage sons (14 and 15) did their classroom and pool work for their PADI certification at home. We registered them to complete their four check out dives with Banyan Tree after reading their reviews. The boys suggesting giving Caitlin and Kev more than 5 stars as they really enjoyed themselves. Caitlin is a fantastic communicator, patient and an excellent motivator. After each dive she provide the boys and another student with constructive feedback. If you are unsure about scuba or just want to get certified from a great outfit Banyan Tree Divers is the way to go. Aloha!!!
