Cruise ship passengers will need to arrange travel to Hulls Cove Visitor Center as we have no human transport vehicles. We recommend the Island Explorer (free) or Cadillac Mtn. Shuttle (taxi). PLEASE plan this in advance.
Ebike battery charges last 30 to 50 miles depending on the effort and body weight of the renter.
All ebikes are class 1 (pedaling required) consistent with park service rules
We will text you 24 hours before your rental to remind you of the location and start time.
All ebikes come with an insulated bag, lock, phone holder, helmet and map.
All participants need to be capable of riding a typical pedal bike.

We read the mostly good reviews of Island Time and decided to book, especially since we are owners of our own E-Bikes. I called to see if I could change the time of our bike pickup by 30 minutes and by the reaction of the man who answered you’d swear I called to tell him his cat died. He hesitantly agreed to let us pick up at 9:30 vs. 9:00 and when we arrived my wife and I were given E-Bikes which had definitely seen better days. Broken straps to hold your cellphone, a seat that wouldn’t stay at the adjusted height setting, and just an overall worn look. Outside of these were issues, we did gave a great time in the park. I just may look elsewhere if we decide to rent E-Bikes again to explore the area.

Everything about this trip was great. We found IslandBikes in the parking lot of the Visitor Center (after going up the 52 steps to the Visitor Center itself—don’t do that). They had our bikes ready to go and gave us a quick but thorough intro to both the bikes and a map of the park. So if you’re a complete beginner, you’ll have no problem, and if you’re experienced, you won’t have to wait long to get going. They were very good about warning us about the first steep hill and what to expect. The park itself is beautiful, and, once we got into it, it did not feel crowded, except in the most popular spots—even though it was jam packed in the parking lot. We often had the carriage road to ourselves. My husband is an experienced cyclist and in great shape, and I am not either of those things, and we both had a lot of fun. We did the route with the highest elevation profile and saw some beautiful views, and my bike helped me tremendously! This trip has given me confidence for more e-cycling adventures!

The staff was very patient and explained how the Ebike worked, reviewed the map and gave advice. It was our first time using e-bikes so it took a while to get used to them. This company was great to book with and accommodating. We do regret not doing the guided tour. Also a few things on the trail, first bathroom(ports potty) was locked so beware. Paths were well groomed and very well marked. Beautiful scenery!
