I am unhappy with Trip Advisor using Viator as the vendor. I thought I made a reservation with Trip Advisor. THe day of the cruise, weather forced it to be cancelled. There was an email from Viator about the cancellation, but I overlooked it because I did not realize Trip Advisor was also Viator.
We tried to take the cruise the next day, but the vendor could not guarantee the weather would allow us to take the cruise we booked. It ended up the ocean was too rough, so the cruise was a shorter 4 hour cruise in Resurrection Bay. I checked to see that I'd get a credit on my credit card and almost left. I had another question before leaving, and confirmed that I'd get a credit, and the person said - hold on - no I'd be getting a cash refund. So I was given cash of I think $50 / person or $200. Then when the charge showed up on my credit card, it was with Viator out of London, Great Britian with no other details. WHen I called American Express, they had no details but gave me two unviable phone numbers. I went back to my confirmation email, and found a link for Viator Customer Care. THey were puzzled, saying Viator is out of Las Vegas, not London GB and wanted me to scan & send how this showed up on my credit card. American Express will not let me dispute the charge, as they said the website shows that that Viator is a Trip Advisor Company. I'll never use Trip Advisor again, ever.
