Wife and I, with son's family of four, boarded this goofy (it was, after all, a Disney excursion) bus/boat for a tour of the city from land and sea (about 2 hours). Guide, Nikita, and Captain D helped us through the streets of Ketchikan with great commentary, historical facts and humor. With rain threatening and a light mist, the plastic sides of the duck were up with small, somewhat hard-to-get-to portholes available for photos. We were told that when the salmon run late summer/early fall the town smells a bit or a lot from the dead fish...the bears can't eat them all. Glad we came when we did. Bring your binoculars and camera. There is always a chance you will see a wild critter on shore or in the water. Bald eagles were about all we could spot. The sun came out in the pm and the temps were moderate, making a walk around town easy to do. The R2AK race (great web site) was still on, although the locals thought it was over. It is a wind/human-powered, unsupported sail/boat/board race of 750 miles from Victoria, BC, to Ketchikan. Finishers arrived at random times...we did not see any. The duck is a fun way to orient yourself the city and meet some fellow visitors.

We are happy to hear our team wound through the streets while sharing historical facts in a humorous way. It is a "goofy" way to enjoy Ketchikan from land and sea. After all, you were off of Disney ship.

On a rainy day in Ketchikan, this was a great way to see the area and stay dry. Our tour guide Issac absolutely made the trip! Great information with funny personal stories. Thank you Issac!!

The challenge in a tourist town is finding the tours / excursions that are worth what you pay. The Duck tour in Ketchikan delivers. Nice, interesting, informative tour around town with jokes so bad they are hilarious, followed by a water tour that will provide picture opportunities you will not get anywhere else in town, including the ship. Gil and driver (forget his name but he's from Maine) were attentive, entertaining, and dedicated to making sure everyone had fun.
