Swimming with magical giants as they dance and float right in front of your eyes is a truly magical Kona experience!

Our night manta ray snorkel tours begin departing at 6 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. and last about an hour.

Important note:
-Participants must be experienced swimmers and in good health in order to participate.
-Must have basic snorkeling experience.
-Weight Policy: Anyone 260 and over (not to exceed 320) is required to purchase an additional seat.

All participants must be experienced swimmers and have snorkel experience. Children must be 5 and over to board the boat. Due to the type of boat we operate (RHIB) we are unable to allow service animals on board.

50 minutes includes travel by boat time as well

One of the best highlights of our honeymoon and an absolute must-do activity for anyone visiting Kailua-Kona. The rays come within a few inches of you and put on quite a show. The staff is all very friendly, informative, helpful and enthusiastic. You can tell they have a genuine love for these creatures and know a lot about them. We felt like we were in good hands. We were told to arrive about a half hour before the launch, but this didn’t seem necessary at all. It took about 5 minutes to prepare and the rest of that time was spent waiting.

This was such a wonderful experience! We did the 6:30pm snorkel tour, which I recommend because you get to see sunset as well. We used a Groupon, which was an excellent deal for the experience. Justin was our snorkel tour leader and was extremely knowledgeable about the manta rays, so much that other operators were constantly asking him questions. Holy smokes, we saw ~7 manta rays and they come within inches of touching your face, but don't. These things are huge, one was about 14 ft in width. You can see down their mouths as they pass by! I went night diving thinking that it would provide a closer experience, but got to say the snorkel is about as up close as you can get. Liked their ankle float supports. Saw other operators with pool noodles that kept getting lost or hitting other snorkelers, which was annoying. The whole staff was friendly, courteous, and a pleasure to be around. Felt safe and secure during the event. Thanks again for an outstanding experience!

Aloha! Thank you so much for your great review. Justin is a wealth of knowledge in the ocean and we are grateful to have him on our team. 7 Manta Rays is amazing! They come within "licking distance" is what we like to say - stick your tongue out and that is how close they can often come up to you. We hear that a lot regarding the diving, snorkeling is where it is at for this particular activity. It is because the Manta Rays like to be on the surface of the water where the lighting attracts their source of food instead of at the bottom of the ocean.
