This is not a beginner friendly activity. We constantly told one of the guides who goes by the name of Hank, that our kayak was filling with water. He just told us to keep paddling. I also believe there was a language barrier. Anyways, this resulted in our kayak flipping over because they ALSO did not warn us about how choppy the waves were! We told Hank on multiple occasions that our kayak was filling rapidly. A family near by in their boat had to help us out of the lake with the assistance of another guide who was not apart of our tour, Ben. After the family helped us on to their boat, one of the guides who was apart of our tour ended up flipping into the water too because his kayak had been filled with water as well. He joined us on the boat with that very nice family. They towed our two kayaks as close to land as they could. Hayden, the tour guide had to swim us back to land from where the boat dropped us off at. After making it back to where we began, we were then told that this weekend had been one of the busiest this year and that’s why the lake was so choppy. They should’ve have told us that from the start. Also, Our other friends who were in a separate kayak never made it to the hike either because of the condition of the water.

Hi Destini,
Thank you for joining us this Labor Day weekend! We truly appreciate your business and feedback.
Our tours are designed to accommodate participants of all backgrounds and skill levels, including beginners. We prioritize guest satisfaction and safety, with our guides adjusting the pace to suit the group’s needs. We understand that the congestion on the lake, which led to choppy waters, was an inconvenience. While we strive to minimize these challenges, they can be expected during busy holiday weekends.
We’d love the opportunity to show you and your group around on a calmer day so you can fully experience what we pride ourselves on.
