The visit to Laura Plantation plunged us into the heart of the life of several generations of a family of Creole planters where the relationships between family members, servants and slaves were described to us on the basis of information and documentation that had been made. the subject of several years of research. Far from clichés and commonplaces, we discovered the complexity and ambiguity of these relationships. Our guide Joseph was able to captivate us with the truth and emotion of the situations he described. An unforgettable visit, not to be missed.
