My friend made arrangements thru Kens Tours I believe prior to our trip for Lake Powell and lower & upper Antelope Canyon. It was a little confusing because they made it seem that you had to be in a particular place at a certain time. We had intended to do Lake Powell first but when we arrived they told us to get on line for lower Antelope. They were extremely happy we ‘followed instructions’ and thanked us for it! By instructions I mean DO NOT go with a backpack or pocketbook or any large bag. You can bring a small (quart sized clear bag preferred) and a water bottle and camera is also ok. Tip: get one of those sling water bottle holders off of Amazon so your hands are free! I had put one in my cart before the trip and forgot about it and the entire time on my trip to Arizona I wish I had it!! Also get some bandanas...they are great to drench with water in that heat and wrap around your neck. Anyway...our guide Nolan was so sweet and very informative. The lower canyon is beautiful! Your guide will tell you what setting to put your cell phone camera on in order to capture those magnificent colors! It’s not too long of a tour...you just have to wait a bit for the tour in front of you to move on forward before you can continue but that offered more opportunities for photos. Tipping is expected...be prepared to do a lot of it on any tour. We didn’t get to the upper canyon until much later in the day. I would suggest not going past 3:00. It was still beautiful, but it’s a lot darker than the lower canyon so the later you go, the darker (and cooler!) it is. Highly recommend and so happy I got to experience it.
