Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

The show and atmosphere at Kalamaku Luau were fantastic! The performances were captivating, the drinks were delicious, and the open bar was definitely a nice touch. However, I was a bit disappointed in the food. While I was expecting traditional Hawaiian dishes, the options felt more like standard BBQ fare – pulled pork instead of traditional kālua pig, teriyaki chicken, plain white rice, and even macaroni salad, which didn’t seem to fit the authentic Hawaiian vibe. The fish also tasted a bit off, which was unfortunate. Overall, it’s a great experience for the show and drinks, but the food could definitely use a more authentic touch to match the setting.

The train ride was a great experience and we learned more about Kauai history and the history of the plantation.

It was amazing. i loved the food and staff. It rained vut thankfully it was covered so the show went on. The open bar was great and didnt water down the drinks. We had a vegetarian in our group and she was catered to.
