I went on Made in Brooklyn's Williamsburg tour this past week... what a great way to explore Brooklyn and all it has to offer. Dom focused on the changing neighborhoods, the evolution of buildings and manufacturing, the relationship between Manhattan and Brooklyn, and what I loved most; the current 'Made in Brooklyn' craft, food, and drink. We stopped at the local chocolate factory, ice cream shop, coffee spot, and even a few awesome boutiques carrying Brooklyn-handmade accessories! Dom spent just the right amount of time in each location and was able to give us a truly authentic Brooklyn experience! I would recommend this tour to anyone and everyone looking for a great way to spend an afternoon in NYC!

Dom provides an excellent tour of Red Hook, including several local businesses, and couples this with historical background of Brooklyn and Red Hook in particular. This tour is comparable to the best walking tours in Manhattan, but in addition provides access to the shops where local products are made - access that's not easy to get without Dom's relationships with the vendors.

If you are planning a trip to NYC and trying to decide whether to include Brooklyn there are two questions you need to answer. Firstly, is it worth the effort and secondly how to go about it? We have made numerous visits to New York and only ever stayed in Manhattan. This was therefore our first visit to Brooklyn and, having spent a great day there, really regretted not having made an earlier visit. Our visit started with a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, followed by Dom's walking tour of DUMBO, a ferry journey to Williamsburg and back to Manhattan. It was a great combination. Answering the second question, a walking tour (and Dom's in particular) is a perfect way to get to understand Brooklyn, its history, geography and people. Dom is an excellent tour guide: informative, funny and very engaged. He takes you to some unique places where you will meet some fascinating people. You do all of this with the backdrop of Manhattan. Highly recommended and the highlight of a long weekend in NYC. Book it you will not be disappointed.
