Had a spectacular group tour with Dom on Saturday Nov 14. Dom tailored his Made in Brooklyn – Willamsburg Tour for a group of Girl Scouts and their parents. The history he shared was fascinating, and the stops were all wonderful. He has a real passion for the manufacturing past in Brooklyn as well as the current maker movement, and weaves the two together. He’s engaging, enlightening and a great storyteller. I’m hoping to run a similar event with Made in Brooklyn Tours next year. Don’t know if there’s a better endorsement than that!

Dom made our day in DUMBO incredibly enjoyable by weaving together the multiple stories of Brooklyn in such an engaging way: the history of the area and the people that transformed it at each stage of the modern era, his own Brooklyn narrative, and the journeys of the 'makers' we met in the nooks and crannies of the neighbourhood. He also made a special effort to connect with our 85 year old mother/mother-in-law who grew up in Brooklyn but has not been back for many years...going out of way to make connections she would enjoy. The three of us found the tour delightful and would highly recommend "Made in Brooklyn Tours" to anyone who likes off the beaten path unique and passionately led walks through wonderful city neighbourhoods.

This is one of the best walking city tours I have even been on! Dom Gervasi is the owner/operator of this and two other "Made In Brooklyn" tours. As not only a native of Brooklyn, but also a tour guide who has studied Brooklyn as an adult and uses the tour to not only share fascinating history about Brooklyn but also to promote the gems of businesses and individuals that make this area so amazing. He even introduced us to CAM, the graffiti artist that has the city contract to paint art of walls around Brooklyn! A DO NOT MISS tour!
