Manta Mania - Manta Ray Night Snorkel - doświadczenie w małej grupie w Kona na Hawajach

Przegląd
We carry a maximum of 12 passengers so we can offer a more intimate manta ray snorkel experience than the larger "cattle boats" in Kona.

In addition to delivering a more private experience, our small group size allows for a better manta ray show. Your swim guide will tow your party to the most active areas of the snorkel site, as you hold onto a light board and enjoy the show. Larger groups on bigger boats are often required to stay next to the boat, and can't chase the manta ray action as we do. By locating the most active areas of the snorkel site, you'll have a higher chance of seeing more manta rays.

If you book all 12 seats on any trip, you will have your own private charter.

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to snorkel with manta rays, in a private small-group experience. Get ready to make memories that will last a lifetime!

Whenever I get over to the Big Island I make sure to get out on the ocean with Capt. Ron. He knows the right spots to find dolphins, manta rays and whales. This trip we find a WHALE SHARK! THAT WAS NOT EVEN ON MY BUCKET LIST! I notice that other Captains watch to see where Capt. Ron goes so they can get in on the action! This trip they missed out because, on our way back to the harbor, Capt, Ron spots a whale shark. We got to spend another 15 minutes swimming on top of, underneath, and beside a 25 ft. whale shark before he headed off to the deep. So, needless to say, I highly recommend Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures for the adventure of a lifetime! Oh yes, a few years ago I went on a night manta ray adventure. That was wonderful also! Dan S

We went on our first Manta Ray Night Dive with Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures. Our ship captain wasn't captian Ron however our ship captain and crew member where wonderful. I was very sea sick and they were very sympathetic. We didn't see Mantas for the first 45 minutes of the snorkel. Several other tour groups gave up and left. Our captain suggested his crew take us out one more time and we saw two huge mantas including LEFTY! It was so exciting to see a named Manta that we had talked about on the boat. Afterwords we had brownies made by Captain Rons wife. Soda and water were provided as well as really nice wet suits and snorkel gear. I would reccomend this company over others because there were only 6 of us on board where the other cruises were packed on their boats. I loved the individual attention on our smaller cruise. Also, the four other people on our cruise had never snorkeled ever before and did fine with the instruction given. I was surprised how "not scary" the whole expeirence was. It was dark, it was the 30' of ocean but it ends up being pretty light up with lots of people around so there is nothing to be afraid of at all. (I am a known scaredy cat even) While you wait for Mantas you see other cool fish too - bonus! My only suggestion is take anti motion sickness meds before your trip.

Since I had never been to Hawaii, I really had no idea what to expect. I traveled from Los Angeles to the Big Island with my partner and we had really planned just a week of relaxation and "doing nothing". While we were on a hike at Pololu Valley, we ran into a nice family from San Antonio who suggested we call Captain Ron at Coral Reef Adventures for the adventure of a lifetime. They had been snorkeling with manta rays the night before and suggested that it was the highlight of their trip. They were so passionate about this snorkeling adventure that we had to call and check it out. We scheduled a night snorkel with manta rays for the following night and were not disappointed. I had never been snorkeling before and the prospect of being in the water after dark made me a little uneasy. Cpt Andy and Natalie were perfect hosts and teachers. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome and put my mind at ease. This was a small charter that included the two of us and a nice family of four; much more intimate that several of the other tour groups. On the way to the dive site, our boat was escorted by a group of spinner dolphins. We watched from the bow of the ship as the dolphins swam next to us spinning and jumping, almost like our own private escorts. Cpt Andy sped up and made a huge circle to create a big wake, and we watched the dolphins jump and surf the wake of the boat. It was pretty amazing! Once we arrived at the site, Cpt Andy gave us a quick manta ray lesson, and Natalie gave us our instructions for the snorkel. Once we were in the water, we were joined by several other tour groups totaling approximately 150 people in the water. Quick description: you on the surface stretched out like Superman holding on to a raft with lights to attract plankton; about 20 divers at the bottom (100 ft) shining lights up to attract plankton; after a few minutes the manta rays swim into view underneath you; once the plankton have accumulated the manta rays come closer and closer; once they begin their feeding rolls. they are almost on top of you. These rays measure from 5 feet to 16 feet across. It was a little strange and scary...but magical. I felt the rays brush against my stomach several times while they were feeding. We were in the water for about 30 minutes and Natalie made sure that we had the best show. She kept us alert to the approach of the rays, and maneuvered us into the best position to see the manta rays. If you are in Hawaii, do not miss this adventure...and if you choose to participate, call Coral Reef Snorkel Adventures. Big thanks to Andy and Natalie for the adventure of a lifetime....and thanks for the "Humpy's" recommendation; great fish and chips!
