Overview

We carry a maximum of 6 passengers so we can offer a more intimate manta ray snorkel experience than the larger "cattle boats" in Kona.

In addition to delivering a more private experience, our small group size allows for a better manta ray show. Your swim guide will tow your party to the most active areas of the snorkel site, as you hold onto a light board and enjoy the show. Larger groups on bigger boats are often required to stay next to the boat, and can't chase the manta ray action as we do. By locating the most active areas of the snorkel site, you'll have a higher chance of seeing more manta rays.

If you book all 6 seats on any trip, you will have your own private charter.

Having been to the big island multiple times through out the years, I have always wanted to do the Manta Ray snorkel trip but for reasons beyond my control, I was never able to do it until now. What an experience!! I HIGHLY recommend Coral Reef Adventures as our group size was small and we had personalized attention paid to us. Our tour guide, Jacob and Captain Marc were friendly, knowledgable, and made our trip not only fun but also a once in a lifetime experience. This is a must do!

Group of four of us plus a couple other guests for a great small group experience. Our guides were informative and attentive. We were fortunate enough to see 6 large manta rays inches from our bodies. Incredible to see these animals in their natural habitat. Would definitely go again.

Cancelled on us the day before with no explanation as to why. The last minute nature made it very difficult to find a replacement. Ended up getting the last seats with a different provider that actually went out to sea that night and had a great time.

Aloha - thank you for your feedback, and apologies for the inconvenience. We canceled this tour due to dangerous ocean conditions and safety concerns. We reached out by phone and email to explain, so it's surprising to hear that you believe there was no explanation provided. Each captain has a different opinion on when it's "too dangerous" to run a tour, and we prefer to err on the side of caution, so we sometimes cancel tours when other boats are willing to take the safety risk and run tours in questionable conditions.
