Manta Mania - Manta Ray Night Snorkel - Small-Group Experience In Kona, Hawaii

Overview
We carry a maximum of 12 passengers so we can offer a more intimate manta ray snorkel experience than the larger "cattle boats" in Kona.

In addition to delivering a more private experience, our small group size allows for a better manta ray show. Your swim guide will tow your party to the most active areas of the snorkel site, as you hold onto a light board and enjoy the show. Larger groups on bigger boats are often required to stay next to the boat, and can't chase the manta ray action as we do. By locating the most active areas of the snorkel site, you'll have a higher chance of seeing more manta rays.

If you book all 12 seats on any trip, you will have your own private charter.

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to snorkel with manta rays, in a private small-group experience. Get ready to make memories that will last a lifetime!

This was a fun excursion, for sure! We had awesome guides! Very fun and educational! But a few things should be noted. You really only need to bring a towel with you. Anything you bring stays in the dry cabinet on the boat for the duration. Even your shoes/aquasocks come OFF as you board the boat. The 1st 25 min is a very bumpy, speedy boat ride to 'the sweet spot.' There you get in the water and, as pictured, you hang on to the light board bars. There are waves, and you might get knocked around a bit, but just hang on to your spot. There are quite a few other tours happening simultaneously, so you may end up bumping feet with other groups. If you submerge your entire head (like I do) you will miss hearing all the interesting facts that your guide tells you. But you want to be face-down in the water, looking all around and underneath to spot these big, beautiful creatures! So, it's a balance... Be patient... These are amazing creatures, and when they swim up to your board, it's absolutely breathtaking! You'll get a good 30-45 min in the water, so don't over-grip. (Loosen up your grip, and relax your shoulders - if you are too tense, you'll feel it for the next few days.) It can be tricky to climb back up the ladder into the boat, so if you have knee issues, well.. beware. Then it's a chilly 25 min bumpy ride back to the harbor! So, grab your towel once you are back on the boat! You'll need it to wrap up in! Most of all, ENJOY these magical creatures!

Their boat is too small. Go with bigger tour group. Do not recommend if you get seasick. Boat rocks a lot due to the size.

Experience of a lifetime! It’s a small zodiac that gets you out and back quickly. Saw many Mantas, our guide was very informative and the rest of the crew was super friendly and knowledgeable.
