Overview

We carry a maximum of 6 passengers so we can offer a more intimate manta ray snorkel experience than the larger "cattle boats" in Kona.

In addition to delivering a more private experience, our small group size allows for a better manta ray show. Your swim guide will tow your party to the most active areas of the snorkel site, as you hold onto a light board and enjoy the show. Larger groups on bigger boats are often required to stay next to the boat, and can't chase the manta ray action as we do. By locating the most active areas of the snorkel site, you'll have a higher chance of seeing more manta rays.

If you book all 6 seats on any trip, you will have your own private charter.

We went with Hawaiian Oceanic and they did a great job. It was a quick 5 minute boat ride then 30-40 minutes of drifting with the Manta Rays after sunset. Very little effort required from us and plenty of magnificent Manta Rays up close! I would recommend to any snorkeling fan. The crew was excellent.

This is an absolute MUST DO for anyone visiting Hawaii! Our captain Pena was most accommodating and the guide Ake was very knowledgeable and informed us of the various rays. We saw so many rays and the smaller group made us feel more engaged with our hosts.

This was an incredible experience! I'm prone to motion sickness and did not take my Dramamine in time for it to reach full capability, my fault. With that said, I sucked it up and went for it. The rays were beautiful, vivid and incredibly close to where they almost touched you. I was in complete awe!! Jacob, our guide and the boat captain, were very nice, patient and awesome!! I did become sick however it was all worth it! I would do it again if I had the chance, but would take the Dramamin 24 hours in advance, vice 1 hour.
