  • The Mary Todd Lincoln House is partially wheelchair accessible. The first floor of the museum can be reached via a handicap lift and is wheelchair navigable. Please ask staff for access to the lift. The second floor is not wheelchair accessible. There are twenty-one steps to the second floor. A photo album of the upstairs is available for visitors who are unable to or choose not to tour the upstairs.

We learned a lot about the Todds and the way of life back then in Lexington, Kentucky. The Civil War was highlighted as well as slave ownership. I felt empowered just by running my hand along the same bannister that Abraham Lincoln once did.

First the positives. Staff was very friendly and professional. They make every effort to make it as safe as possible. Masks are required and only one party in each room at the same time. Can easily see house in less than 30 minutes. Many of the items in there did not belong to Mary Todd‘s family. The furniture etc is representative of that time period but not necessarily her family. Limited amount of signage.

This is an interesting home. It is located on a main street. There is major construction behind the house. There is free parking behind the house. This is a self guided tour but the guides are very helpful.
