Wow! Five Stars all day. We booked this tour to fill a day after our cruise before our evening flight took off. We were hesitant as we had done another glacier excursion on the trip (paddle to Mendenhall) - but this one provided us the opportunity to actually walk on a glacier. But this tour was so, so much more than that!! Our tour guide Johnny shared his passion for Alaska on the drive to the glacier - the trip was filled with information and facts about Alaska, Anchorage, surrounding areas. We stopped for photos at curated choices for the best views. When we arrived at the glacier, we picked up a glacier tour guide (Chris) who was an additional wealth of knowledge about the glacier, its history and glaciology as well as many other fun facts. We drink glacial water. We learned about glacial silt facials, saw mulans and made many memories. Then we drove to lunch at a restaurant with a lovely view of the glacier we just hiked. Some slept on the way back, but those who did not were treated to even more knowledge from Johnny our tour guide about bears, the Iditarod , etc. We visited in June. We got very lucky and had a sunny day, but were prepared with rain jackets that we did need for a brief passing shower. Wear pants and good boots or shoes. Bring an empty water bottle and an empty plastic ziplock bag, and of course a camera!
