We met at the appointed location, and our guide, Ryan, was holding a sign to greet us. Our group was assembled, and Ryan gave a brief summary of the agenda for the tour before we boarded a clean, "newish" van to Mendenhall Lake. Along the way, Ryan pointed out some sights and discussed local information.
At the lake, a second van was waiting with equipment including good quality rain gear, life jackets, paddles and our canoe, along with water proof gear bags in which we were given snacks and a bottle of water; we could use the bags for anything we wanted kept dry. There were camp awnings and benches setup to shield us from the rain while we put on rain gear and life jackets. The group was given an introduction to canoeing and safety briefing before we went over to the lake to board the canoe.
We paddled and took breaks as we approached Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls. We were able to get close to the glacier within limits to avoid risks of calving ice. We also got very close to the falls and a grounded iceberg.
Ryan did a great job of making the trip fun, just don't laugh at his bad jokes because it encouraged him to tell more. The equipment was very good quality, both for use and safety, and the snack was good (granola, energy bar and fruit snacks) to replenish energy. We were back to Juneau on time.
The one possible negative about the tour was that this is an "active tour" meaning that not all of the tourists seemed to appreciate they would be expected to paddle across the lake and back. Maybe that should be emphasized more in the description.
For my daughter and me, the tour was perfect and we would recommend to anyone with 3-4 hours to spend, and we would do another tour with Liquid Alaska Tours.

Thank you for spending the time to write this- we appreciate it. This tour is definitely more for the adventurous, active guest as we paddle around the Mendenhall Lake for two hours, but it is definitely worth it. Thanks for laughing at Ryan's jokes and we are happy to be apart of your Alaskan memories with your daughter.
