Przegląd
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE a hike.

We had an absolutely fantastic time on our canoe and hike tour with Jordan and Molly! From the very start, Molly’s thoughtful call to check if we were taking the shuttle or driving to the lake set the tone for a personalized and caring experience. Once we arrived, Jordan ensured we were all geared up with the provided equipment (boots, wet pants/jacket, flotation vest, helmet, gloves, and dry bag), making sure everything fit perfectly. Before we got into the canoe, both Jordan and Molly went over the rules and what to expect, making the whole process a breeze. Their energy was infectious, and they kept us entertained with jokes and humorous stories while still sharing important facts and information. The journey to and from the glacier was not only enjoyable but also educational. During the hike, they offered to take pictures for couples and shared fascinating insights about how the glacier and wildlife have changed over the years. Their knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience truly memorable. We feel incredibly lucky to have had Jordan and Molly as our guides. They made the tour special, and we highly recommend this tour and these amazing guides. And to Jordan’s mother, you raised a wonderful son. He was very polite and helpful throughout the tour. In addition to Shayla being courteous, knowledgeable and a great guide, she set the expectation of every part of the trip. The experience seeing the Glacier was totally memorable! I have never been that close and feel like it was an amazing trip!! I felt safe and really enjoyed myself!

This is your best option for close up views of the glacier. It was also a good upper body workout and educational experience. Tour guide Justin was great! Appreciated his navigation skills, knowledge of the history of the region and sea shanty serenade. Highly recommend!
