Our trip was booked on line.
We met our tour guide Shayla at the Mt Roberts Tramway and were transported to the glacier.
We were given waterproof clothing; trousers, coats, gloves and boots, together with a dry bag for our belongings. Safety advice was given and we made our way to the lake, which was like a mill pond.
The canoeing was broken up with breaks, with opportunities to ask questions and take photographs, and wasn’t too taxing. We were also given drinks and snacks to keep us going.
Shayla gave us lots of information about the area and the lake, and was very engaging and personable; a great guide.
The glacier itself is beautiful and a must see while in Juneau and canoeing is the best way to get up close to it.
After the canoeing, we were provided with hot drinks and returned to downtown Juneau.
A great way to spend 4 hours, and was much helped by the perfect weather conditions.
