Beautiful trip, many whales spotted even 1 more that jumped. The captain gave a lot of information about the type of whale etc. The boat was neat, clean, friendly staff and felt very solid at sea. Take travel tablets in advance anyway, the waves / swell is quite intense especially when the boat is stationary to watch the whales etc.

Great trip with beautiful views, and a lot of whales. The trip started a little foggy, but it quickly cleared up, so you could get a lot of nice pictures. Really great experience!

It was unfortunately a bit foggy due to the season. Nevertheless, we have seen whales. The approach from the coast took maybe 20-30 minutes. There were more than 2 hours to observe the interaction of sea lions, seagulls and whales. Well explained, with respect distance to the animals, who then voluntarily came closer. A good experience. At the beginning of August we were able to join the ship spontaneously. The upper deck was occupied by less than 10 people. Far from fully booked (14h). Even if we didn't mind the swinging, many were below deck and were 'ready to go home'. Next time I would start from Moss Landing. The undersea ditch is closer there and perhaps larger whales could also appear. (pure guess)

Thank for your review! We are happy you were able to see the magnificent wildlife in Monterey Bay! Certain times of year are differently more foggy than other times, but we always see whales. We do have our sister company the Seagoddess that leaves from Moss Landing, sometimes the whales appear in that area quicker, many times those boats have to come to Monterey Bay for sightings. It really depends on where the whales are traveling at a particular time, but I can assure you the humpbacks we all enjoy & encounter are the the same whales hanging around our area. There are no larger whales, but they are all beautiful giants of the sea 🐋
