On the way out to Muir Woods, you will cross the iconic Golden Gate Bridge with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz Island.
Continue along the Pacific Coast Highway, providing stunning views of the coastal mountains before heading further to Muir Woods National Monument.

With maps in hand, take a walk through the spectacular woods and take in all of its natural beauty. After exploring Muir Woods for about 1.5 hours at your leisure, we will head to charming Sausalito, a small Mediterranean-style seaside town in Marin County, home to some of the country's wealthiest citizens.

If you wish to spend time in Sausalito, you can choose to hop off the tour and enjoy a ferry ride back to San Francisco with beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline and Alcatraz Island (ferry tickets not included), or you can stay on board the tour and return back to San Francisco.

After reading the reviews on here, I was a little worried about our upcoming excursion to say the least! However, I needn't have worried, we exchanged our tickets no problem and boarded the bus at 9am, departing on time and efficiently. Our guide, Danielle, was wonderful, very friendly, funny and telling us lots about SF as we crossed the bridge. We were picked up on time for Muir Woods, had the weather been better, I'd have liked longer than 1hr30 but the torrential downpour meant that was just enough. Danielle told us a bit about Sausalito and gave some food recommendations before dropping us off, the ferry back to SF was also prompt and easy to find - all in all, a good trip!

I highly recommend going to Muir Woods when in San Francisco it is a chance to see trees that lived in the time of Christ and through the total history of America.
