NASA's space center is worth the visit, maybe 4 hours is too long but I enjoyed it. The city tour was ok, Houston doesn't seem to be a touristic city so the time dedicated to it was enough. overall, nice day trip.

We started the tour by doing a city tour in a double decker bus, which was quite interesting but we seemed to cover some of the same ground. It ended back at the tour office where we waited around fo a while before going on a smaller bus out to the Space Centre where we were dropped off. We felt that too much time was wasted on the city tour and waiting around, time that would have been better spent at the Space Centre. You really need a full day at the SC. Half a day is no where near long enough. My advice is to forget the tour and get an Uber out there arriving at opening time and spend the day there and then get a Uber back to your hotel at the end of the day. You won’t save any queuing time by taking the tour. We arrived there on the tour after noon on a Sunday and there was a minimal queue for tickets. Biggest queue is for the tram to see the astronaut training centre, which is extremely interesting. Worth jumping on all the other tour trams which had minimal queues. Space Centre is a hugely interesting place so allow yourself plenty of time. We loved the place. Standing by the Saturn V rockets engines is worth the visit alone! Just awesome.

Thank you for your feedback. In regards to our space center tour package that you mentioned we wanted to make sure that the correct information was provided. Our Space Center tour package is not only transportation to the Space Center. This tour package also includes a 75-minute Houston city tour on our one of a kind double-decker bus. Also, the tour includes round trip transportation to and from the Space Center back to our Visitor Center As far as taking an uber or taxi the cost is much higher due to the fact that the space center is located about 30 miles away from downtown just a one-way trip to the space center from the city would cost you on average anywhere between 40- 60 dollars, so for round trip transportation it would be close to 100 dollars not including the cost of the admissions ticket.
