A fantastic experience, a great way to see some of the famous monuments and skylines. A friendly and knowledgeable guide (Dave) to go along side the cruise, the whole experience was well organised and fun. Tip: arrive early, as they do begin to let you board the cruise a good hour before your time slot, this will allow you to get the seats that you want, as for obvious safety reasons they do not let you stand on the top deck, so once seats have gone they are gone and you will have to be seated on the lower deck. We were lucky as we were very early and got sat on the top deck which made the cruise more special.
Nice way of seeing southern part of Manhattan from the water. Trip length adequate so you have time for further sightseeing. A visit to the Intrepid and Growler, right next at Pier 86, is a must. Recommended! JAM
Do the SUNSET cruise!!! Have been living in NYC for the past 6 years, and my dad visited me for the first time shortly before the holiday. We couldn't have asked for better weather- and got to see NYC by sunset and the bright lights at night- full moon and all. My dad was enchanted and I fell in love with this city all over again. From views of Jersey, meatpacking, lower manhattan and the Freedom tower to a very close swing around Lady Liberty and under the beautiful bridges of nyc and Brooklyn- We were too engrossed on the outside deck to hear much of the tour guide's spiel (one critique: I would make the speakers louder outside!) What we did hear was accurate and humorous. I appreciated the guide's pragmatic and local suggestions to visiting tourists (ie: exact change on MTA buses, don't get a cab at 12th ave, go to this diner for dinner...) who might have otherwise NOT gone off the beaten path or strayed from the safety of their guide books.
Very good tour, worth every penny- I'd go on a clear day to get the full benefit. Hell, I might go again!
