This trip runs on Eastern Time.
You will get an amazing 3 mile tour just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee at Nickajack Lake and will learn about gray bats, osprey, cliff swallows, blue heron, and other wildlife. Your guide will discuss how they are all interconnected, what is being done to protect these wild animals, and what impact you can do to help the incredible endangered gray bat. We throw in a little history of the Tennessee River and how it became what it looks like today. With a grand finale of watching 100,00 gray bats leave the cave at sunset.

The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. We stayed in Chattanooga for a couple of nights on a road trip to New Orleans. We wanted to make the most of our stop and this was a memorable experience for sure.

I highly recommend this tour with Chattanooga Guided Adventures! It was both fun and educational. Our guides, Sam and Luke, were awesome! They were easy-going, extremely knowledgeable and patient. I especially liked that they explained safety procedures very clearly and thoroughly, and walked everyone through how to use the equipment, and correct techniques for paddling. (I've done kayak tours in other places where the guides were like "drill sargents," rushing through a brief orientation and having little patience for questions or concerns from participants. This experience was just the opposite!) I would definitely do another tour with them next time in Chattannoga.

We absolutely loved this kayak tour. The meeting point was easy to find there was plenty of parking. We got there a little early and there was cute little beach that we were able to sit at while we waited. The whole operation was run very smoothly and safely and the guides were very friendly and informative. I felt safe with them the whole time. In addition to the main event of the bats coming out of the cave, we also saw swallow nests under the bridge and an osprey nest. The bats at sunset were amazing! They flew out of the trees next to the cave and there were thousand of them. They flew around our kayaks and it was pretty spectacular. I highly recommend this trip!
