Disappointed not see the Northern Lights. Not much information given during our tour...boring. Dinner was served an hour late, then rushed us to finish our meal to get to the hotsprings. Ice museum is very small & simple. Visibility is poor to see the Norhtern lights, which is understandable. Unless you bring a quality camera to capture the lights and must be a great photographer then it would be worth taking this tour. We were asking the guide if it's possible to see the green lights with our naked eye, and sarcastically telling us "don't you see it green? I can see it green and dancing right now"...making us sound as color blind. I gave it 2 star for safely taking us back & forth to ou hotel.

Hello, We are so sorry that your trip did not meet your expectations. We let our customers know before booking a tour with us that we cannot guarantee the Northern Lights but we will always make our best effort to see them. For your tour however, we do know that the lights were visible. We reached out to a few other guests from your tour who let us know they were definitely out and were seen. We do know that the Aurora can be quite difficult to identify if someone doesn’t have a lot of experience though. We also would like to reassure you that none of our guides would ever offend any of our guests intentionally and we spoke with your guide, Jake, who truly thought he was answering your question sincerely. In terms of the wait for the restaurant that is not something we can really control. The week of your tour we were told by Chena Hot Springs that they were rather understaffed and due to that the wait times could be longer. They are experiencing difficulties staffing just the way many businesses around the country are since the COVID-19 pandemic began. We really hope that this did not ruin your trip to Alaska and that you were able to enjoy the other aspects of the Chena Hot Springs. We appreciate you deciding to take your tour with us and we wish you well on your future adventures. Your AWG Team

Where to begin is the question. I guess you have to start with the beginning when we were picked up at our hotel. First stepping out of the hotel, Lexi greeted us by name which impressed us and got us into the van. Lexi stated that there was one more person and we would then be on our way. Once that person was picked up, Lexi put the mike on and went to town greeting us and telling us some of the details of the trip we would be going on. Lexi was energetic and lively. She did inform us about the conditions of the night and if there was a chance of the seeing the Northern Lights she would do her best. It had been snowing for a few days and it was at the tail end of it so there was still cloud cover in some areas but she would be tracking on her apps and keep us informed. Finally she said all she could and told us to ask her any questions we might have. We learned that this was her third week and how she came about getting the job. Even though it should take about an hour to get there the road conditions were not in our favor so Lexi took her time to make sure we were safe and that we safely arrived at our destination. Once finally there she took us to the reception area prior to the Ice Museum, Informed us that while we were at the Ice Museum she would check our reservations at the restaurant and make sure everything was good to go. My wife entered the Ice Museum and had a traditional Apple Martini that was served in a hand made ice glass. Took pictures and have a great 45 minutes of time. You can buy a ticket at the reception house or pay cash in the Ice Museum. Lexi joined us and just eased into the conversation and not just with us but the others on the tour as well. She unwittingly kept track of all us. After the Ice Museum we took our glass, based on a tradition to blow into the glass and then throw it up and if it shatters into pieces when it hit the ground, the wish would come true. We then proceeded to dinner. Lexi did tell us we didn't have to eat and go straight to the springs so you do not have to eat unless you want to. We had the Halibut with fries and it was very, very good. Some of the tour left after they ate and Lexi handed them a pass to the springs and stated to be back at midnight. My wife and I chose to not do the springs and just walked around the area. Didn't wonder too far due to possible bears and moose but just close enough, back of the restaurant and sat by a fire that was going. At Midnight Lexi had the van pulled up to the doors to the restaurant and we piled in. Lexi stated that we would be going about ten minutes and then pull over for a chance to see the lights. Lexi stated that she was on the apps and it looked good to see them but not the intensity of them. We stopped, Lexi got out to look, came back and was excited to tell us the lights were going. We all got out and had a great time taking pictures. Lexi had already stated what setting to use on the iPhones and Androids which my wife and I were impressed she was will to learn that information and inform us. Lexi also took some pictures of you with the lights in the background. Could not state how long we were there but it was a great time. We piled in again and Lexi state two more stops were in order. Second and third stops didn't produce too much of the show so we finally ended the tour by Lexi stopping to drop us off. Will say that we had one individual drink too much and pretty much made a fool of themselves, but Lexi handled it like a pro and we were glad that person was the first one to be dropped off. We can not say enough on how impressed we were with Lexi. My wife and I have been on tours and Lexi was by far the best tour person we ever had. She will make the business boom and surly be asked for when people book this tour. She will be missed when she leaves but maybe be convinced to stay until her retirement? Lexi is very engaging and charismatic. It was also amazing to us the knowledge of the area and Alaska that Lexi made it her business so she can inform us in only three week of work. A true asset to your company.

Although it started snowing the minute we landed in Fairbanks and we didn’t see the northern lights, we enjoyed the ice museum and hot springs.
