My 2 teenage daughters and I wanted to do a food tour while visiting New York and after looking into different options we chose Dante’s Lower East Side tour and were very pleased we did!
Dante’s tour groups are small (Max 12 people) and Dante does a great job of engaging everyone. He has an easy, relaxed manner that makes you feel like you’re being shown around by a friend.
We found Dante was very knowledgeable and entertaining and obviously enjoys his job. The tour we did was a great way of experiencing not only the food, but also learning about the history and culture in a part of the city that is less touristy.
The 8 food stops were all unique, delicious and carefully chosen to allow you to experience local foods that most of us would not otherwise have found. The amount of food is also perfect. We finished the tour feeling like we’d eaten more than enough but not like we’d over-eaten.
When I asked my 14yo daughters what they liked about the tour their comments included “Dante was really nice and really funny” and “it was great how you learned about the history of the food and the area, as well as got to try all the yummy food”.
We found Dante’s tour was excellent value for money and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially families.
