With your entry ticket, you can also visit The Cloisters uptown on the same day. The Met has extended hours on Friday and Saturday evenings for a quieter, exclusive experience.

  • The pre-orientation experience option is shown as 2 hours long. It includes the 30-minute pre-orientation experience and then self-guided time in the Museum. You can off course spend longer than 90 minutes in the Museum if you want, but this is the minimum amount of time you should allow.

Tour says it starts at 10:00 from inside the Met, but the doors don’t open until 10. There is no option to get there early. There is typically a line to get in and security at that point but we (family of 4) got in and were at the meeting spot by 10:04. Another guide from Attractions4Us found his group at the same spot we were waiting and said that we were in the right place and to be patient as he had seen our guide around. We waited 20 more minutes and then called the Attractions4Us and they said we didn’t check-in and our tour guide Manny left without us. He took our tickets with him and there was no way for us to find him or get our tickets I asked for a reschedule, but they had no other openings on the day and they said it was our fault for not being on time for our guide. They offered no refund. I suspect the company is a good tour company but I question their practice for tours to start from inside when there is no option to get there early. Also, I question their practice of allowing tour guides to not even check for members of their group before starting. If we would have been assigned to the other guide, we would have been found. The other guide had obviously come to find his group at the spot we were supposed to be at. I think Manny was just avoiding having a full group and took the easy out by not checking for the rest of his group. I’m sure he was paid the same regardless of ditching us. I also wander what he went and skelped our tickets too.

Not worth it. Though our guide was nice, we could have enjoyed the experience more with a free guide or on our own.

Getting to see parts of the museum that I was not even aware existed. He took us to see many paintings that I would have missed
