We got picked up from our hotel at 8:30 on the dot, and quickly picked up several others, then transferred to a larger bus. We drove to Oak Alley first, and spent a couple of hours exploring the plantation. We did feel a bit rushed, as the house tour took 50 minutes by the time we lined up and actually started. And we also knew we had to grab lunch, as this would be our last chance for the day, so unfortunately we had to miss several of the exhibits. The plantation itself was absolutely beautiful though! I feel the house tour could probably be freshened up a bit, and it honestly felt like we spent more time getting our large group in and out of rooms than we did hearing information, but that’s not the fault of the tour company! We did grab a quick lunch at the gift shop, and then loaded up for the airboat tour. We got on our boat, and spent about an hour and a half on the water. We had never been on an airboat before, and we had a blast! We saw several gators and our guide had a couple of surprises for us as well! Overall, it was a long day, with lots of driving, but we both felt like it was well worth the time and money, and would recommend this to others!
