Olympic National Park Tour z Seattle

Przegląd
Olympic National Park is well known for having several different ecosystems to explore: subalpine forest, wildflower meadows, temperate rain-forest, and the rugged Pacific Shore. This twelve hour tour allows you to sample each of these systems with the added advantage of having an experienced guide to answer any questions that may arise. Come explore tide pools along the coastal beaches, roam among old-growth forest, trek atop mountain ridges with breathtaking vistas and stand by glacier-birthed rivers and lakes. The tour begins on a leisurely ferry boat ride over the Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula. The exact itinerary will be curated by the tour guide however our first stop will usually find us at Hurricane Ridge where you will hike to an incredible view of the valley below and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. We will move on to Crescent Lake and the seasonally Sol Duc Valley, and a sandy beach along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Please plan on walking six miles.

Optional park stop. Fall is most likely time to stop. A very pretty waterfall, old growth forest with with areas exhibiting temperate rain forest. Seasonal Salmon runs too, in autumn. hiking or if you bring your swimsuit you can soak in hot springs.

Dungeness Recreation Area
Optional Stop: If tide or time tables are not conducive to stop at Salt Creek Recreation Area a stop at Dungeness Spit will replace it. Dungeness spit is also a great beach and wildlife sanctuary. Hike and enjoy.

Elwah River
optional stops depending the day, waterfalls, big trees, the largest dam removal and wildlife rehabilitation project in the world.

Washington State Ferries
We go back to Seattle by ferry and after a long day we often see the sunset over the waters. Seeing Seattle loom larger and larger is a great way to end the day. They serve beer and Ivars's clam chowder as well on board.

Loved the diversity of scenery! Also had an amazing tour guide. Kevin was super knowledgeable and gave us so much insight into the park and the lore of the area. He was so personable and made us all have a fun time. You rocked it!

Our guide Joel with Customized Tours was excellent and the trip could not have been better. Of course, it helped that the weather was sunny, warm and beautiful. Every part of our excursion was well done from on-time pick-up to drop off. Joel clearly knows this park and provided a lot of information. The round-trip ferry boat ride was an added plus. The drive up to Hurricane Ridge was nail-bitingly steep, but Joel was familiar with the route and roads. We made a half-dozen stops to explore several ecosystems including mountains, forests (Marymere Falls and Lake Crescent) and coastline. This was a great way to get an overview of the diversity and beauty of the park, while leaving the logistics and driving to the pros. Wear layers. Bring binoculars if you have them. Bring cash or credit card to buy lunch, snacks or a souvenir (lovely shop at Lake Crescent) and tip your guide if you enjoy your experience. We brought our own lunch and beverages were provided.
