Loved this tour. Our driver/tour guide was so helpful and so very interesting. His knowledge of everything was amazing. A very interesting and fun tour. Thank you.
Orlando is a relatively young city, so if you are looking for history you won't find it here. However, the tour did take us on a very interesting boat ride on lakes connect by canals, and into the city of Celebrity which was really an interesting and unusual spot. The tour guide did a good job of informing us of local facts and attractions. This took the entire day and was worth it.
First the good. The tour covered areas of Orlando that we probably would not have seen otherwise. All the areas visited were interesting and added to an understanding of the region and its history. The guide was friendly and courteous. He made it a point to insure that he was heard by all and provided a running commentary of features and locations we were going through at any given time. He was also a good, responsible driver and managed to get us to each location safely - in spite of some of the other drivers we found on the road.
Now the not so good lousy, in fact. There were twelve of us in the group. We were crammed into a van that provided just enough room for us to tightly fit. The only person with a truly comfortable seat was the person who sat in front, in the seat next to the driver. The rest of us had to make do. With people of differing sizes, it was a challenge. The A/C was noisy. Only the driver's diligence in turning it off when he was going to speak to us allowed us to hear and understand what he was saying. Given the distances between the locations visited, and the time we had to spend in the van as we moved from one place to another, the ride was uncomfortable.. We have been on tours where the amount of money paid for this tour would buy an individual seat in a comfortable, large tour bus with ample storage and foot stretching space, in addition to wide, accessible windows. In this case, we got a bench seat on a van where three abreast barely fit and where your knees were poking into the back of the bench in front of you. As the person in the middle of the bench, I didn't really have an opportunity to take pictures of the locations of interest we passed by. As a matter of fact, the short one hour boat ride offered more comfort and photo opportunities than the van, and it was an uncovered boat, on a sunny day, in 88 degree temperatures.
Would I recommend this tour? Barely. It did not live up to my expectations or the expected value for paid.
