Driver picked us up as arranged. That was Ok. Then he said we had to pay toll fees. I knew we were responsible for these charges but thought $15 was excessive as the toll charge is only $3:75 or thereabouts. Also we thought the vehicle was not as clean as we would expect.
This was very difficult. The concierge at our hotel in Washington phoned twice to confirm out details and left my mobile number but he thought they were not very clear. When we arrived at Boston I phoned the number I had been given and could not get through. I went to a help desk and the girl was not too helpful and pointed us to the outdoor car park. We eventually found the driver holding up a sign outside in a car park quite a distance from us. He was rude and also charged us a toll charge although we did not cross a toll. On our return journey to the airport we got a street taxi and he did not charge us a toll. We were $30 all in. I did not like the attitude of the driver and was most disappointed as the driver that picked us up in Washington was so helpful and pleasant.
Was contacted 24hrs before my return pick-up by a very curt man from Carmel asking for MORE money this time $45 in order to be picked up. He demanded my credit card details even though i told him i was not prepared to give details as I was in a public place in the middle of Boston shopping. I was told if i didn't pay then i would not be picked up! Approx 22:30 at night i called them back to find out was going on and had to pay the driver in the morning before getting into the car. Scammers! Beware of Carmel.
