On arrival at JFK we called the number to be told where to wait for pick up and the cars would be 15mins, the first car arrived an hour late and the second car 1:40mims late. Really not what you want after an 8 hour flight. Told by the first driver that Carmel cars doesn’t pay enough and that is why the cars are not available at 5pm in NYC.
We booked a 7 seater and was told that we could have 5 prices of luggage, the first car we ordered for 4 adults and a baby and the driver nearly had an episode thinking we had more than 5 prices of luggage, the second driver was much more accommodating with only 5 passengers and 5 pieces of luggage.
On a positive, the cars were nice and comfortable with room for 5 and luggage. The drive to Manhattan was smooth and as safe as can be expected in rush hour New York.
The first driver insisted on gratuity upon arrival, we were always going to tip anyhow, whereas the second driver was by far more easy going and didn’t mention gratuity and as said we always intended to tip anyhow and so passed it on.
