Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This half day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

The entire experience was amazing. Everything from the repels to the hikes to the scenery. Kai was excellent. I would highly recommend this private 1/2 day adventure.

This was our family's first canyoneering experience and couldn't have been happier that we chose Desert Highlights! Jake was a fantastic guide, leading our family on two canyon tours. We have kids ages 10, 12, and 14 and he was extremely supportive and encouraging throughout the entire trip, giving our kids confidence on this new adventure! We learned a lot about the area, rock scrambling and rappelling from our time with Jake. This is one of our favorite experiences of any vacation we have taken together and one my kids can't stop talking about. Melissa also did great job of working with us to pick which tours were best for our family and providing us information as we prepared for our trip. All around great people and great experience with Desert Highlights.
