Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This half day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

Melissa made the whole experience fantastic! After a short drive and an easy hike we came to the first rappel. Melissa explained the process in detail putting everyone at ease. Super fun, great exercise, and a perspective of the canyon few others get!

This company is amazing. We had three young children and Herb was our guide. From beginning to end everything was wonderful. They were safe and fun and just good people. Don’t miss out on this group of people.

Canyoneering was so fun. Our family lived it & can't wait to go again. Jake was an amazing guide who was very positive & made us feel at ease. Melissa was very accommodating & helpful with plans. Would highly recommend Desert Highlights for all Moab area adventures.
