My grandson loved the music show outside on the lawn, and really enjoyed going through the home and learning the history.

Laurie and Doug, I’m glad we were able to deliver a memorable experience for your both and your grandson Carter. Mt Vernon is my favorite venue for small children and I’m glad he enjoyed the blacksmith shop as well as the colonial musician. Tom

Tom was a wonderful guide. He is knowledgeable and unscripted. He welcomed all questions and comments even when they were not in keeping with the activity at the moment. We never felt hurried and he welcomed our visit to the gift shop. We also left our purchases in his vehicle and we did not contact him as he had already left. At breakfast the following morning my husband said "There's Tom!" And sure enough he had brought our package to the hotel with out even being asked. What a great outing and experience! Truly he is an Officer and a Gentleman!

Beverly and Bill, Thank you for your kind review and allowing me to expound on 18th and 19th century medicine during our Mt Vernon visit. I'm glad that I was able to return your gifts for your grandchildren. It was fun to share the home where Lafayette stayed in Old Town Alexandria in 1824 with Bill. Please come back soon. On our last day in DC, we spent our morning with Tom going to Mount Vernon. Tom is a wealth of information, friendly and found ways to connect the history to our girls (14 and 11) through their interests. My husband said afterwards that we should have booked Tom for more tours as it added a different level to the experience. Loved the private pick-up, conversation, tips on navigating DC hot spots, and personalized drop-off. Would highly recommend DC Military Tours to anybody and if in the area again would certainly book another tour!
