We're called Unique for a reason... This is not your standard Hana tour. We'll take you on a full day adventure all the way to Hana and beyond then back, or all the way around (depending on weather and road conditions). We will stop at all the best spots along the way, as your driver negotiates the busy 650+ turns and 55+ one-lane bridges. You can just kick back, take in the views, and enjoy the fun!

Highlights may include hiking through lush jungle, swim in pristine waterfalls, taste fresh banana bread and coconut ice cream, hidden lava tubes, scenic view points, local food trucks and farm stands, black or red sand beaches... and learning about Hawaii's history, geology, and legends...

Remember it is YOUR private tour, so talk to your guide about what YOU like and want to do!

Refunds will not be issued if tour/activity is missed due to late or non-arrival of cruise ship
Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair. Please bring or wear sneakers/keens/water shoes with good grip
Operates in all weather conditions, rain or shine, please dress appropriately, bring change of clothes.

Pua'a Ka'a State Park

One of the Road to Hana's most amazing waterfalls! Weather-permitting, you'll be able to swim in the "refreshing" water (read: chillyyyyy!!), and even get behind the waterfall for an epic photo.

Ke‘anae Point

A big time favorite along the Road to Hana, Ke'anae point offers breathtaking views of the coastline, with big waves crashing on the rugged lava rocks. And of course, fresh banana bread, yum ;-)

Hana

We'll reach Hana just around lunch time, and you'll have a choice to sample some of the yummy local food trucks in the area. Local bbq, fresh fish, Thai, Mexican, Huli Huli chicken...? It's always a surprise!

Kaumahina State Wayside Park

A beautiful lookout point over the Hana coastline, overlooking Honomanu Bay and Ke'anae peninsula. Bonus point: a bathroom break if need!

Koki Beach

Just beyond Hana is a small hill, where it is said the bones of Pele, Goddess of the volcanoes, are buried. The rock is crumbly and erosion has turned the beach a deep shade of red. (Note this is not Kaihalulu / Red Sand Beach, which requires trespassing on private property and following a dangerous trail on which accidents happen regularly--we don't do that).

Wailua Falls

One of the Road to Hana's most photogenic waterfalls! If conditions allow, you might even be able to freshen up in the small pond.

‘Ohe‘o Gulch

We'll drive over the bridge that crosses over the famous Seven Sacred Pools, aka Oheo Gulch. Beautiful photo op! (Note: if you want to enter the National Park and hike up on the Pipiwai trail through the Bamboo Forest, up to Waimoku Falls, please select the 7 Sacred Pools & Bamboo Forest Hike Tour!)

Alelele Bridge

Another stunning view on the Road to Hana, right at the edge between the lush rainforest of the "wet" side, and the dry brush of the "backside". (Note: going all the way around East Maui is NOT guaranteed, as it depends on weather, road conditions, and ongoing road works).

Ho'okipa Beach Park

On the way back, if you still have a little bit of energy left, we can stop at Ho'okipa beach to check out surfing action, and hopefully a few turtles basking in the sun!

6 friends took the Basic Road to Hana day tour! I would not call it "basic" based on all we saw/did/experienced & ate!!! Oh my, the driver & tour guide packed a whole lot into our 8 hour tour: black sand beach, caves, awesome views, short hikes, bamboo forest, ice cream stop, yummy Thai food & on & on... Do not miss this tour! It stuffs a lot into a full day & is well worth the cost, given all you cover during the day on the famous "road to Hana". Plus, Unique Maui Tours includes bottled water, canned juices, & snacks (both salty & sweet). Summer is here. BOOK now, so you won't be left behind...

Great experience to take Unique Maui Tour to Hana. Lance is a skilled driver, surprisingly I didn’t get car sick at all even through this famous winding road to Hana. Tour van was very comfortable too. Wendy, our guide was super flexible for making our tour so special. Enjoyed swimming in the water fall, exploring through a beautiful bamboo forest and mysterious caves and of course Black Sand Beach too!!! They even stopped for a local food like famous banana bread, coconut ice cream, fresh fruit stand and more by our request. Definitely recommend Maui Unique Tour for anyone interested in something special!!!

Unique Maui Tours took us to the amazing and unique places in Hana. A peaceful bamboo forest, beautiful waterfalls and pond like a private pool (no one there!), incredible caves I never been to. Big Mahalo to Lance and Wendy!!
