This day was the highlight of our inside passage trip. The boat is perfect for a small group tour. Jordon is a knowledgeable and skilled pilot and on this trip we saw LOTS of whales but also porpoise, otters, eagles and puffins. We were picked up near our cruise and returned promptly, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting this charming family. You absolutely cannot go wrong with booking through Hoonah Whale Tours.

A perfect excursion! Easy booking and pick up at the excursion hub. One of the highlights is that it was a private tour with our family and the captain. We saw the other boats out in the water with tons of people on them and people fighting for the best views but not with our tour. Our captain was just as eager to find wildlife as we were. We found whales almost right away (orcas and humpback) plus we even saw some whales breaching! Then porpoises, sea lions, sea otters! We saw wildlife almost constantly. I know it was the perfect day so that helped us see more wildlife. I can’t express enough how wonderful this excursion was. Go for it and book it and you won’t regret it.

The pictures and videos tell the story. We didn’t have to rush from one side of the ship to another. They were all around us.
