This is a small group rafting and scenic driving tour through the famous Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve with a scenic float trip (no whitewater) through the home of the largest bald eagle congregation in the world. Thousands of bald eagles travel here to feed on salmon in the fall and winter. In spring and summer watch for eagles nesting and raising their young.

Lunch consists of a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, fruit, freshly baked cookie and water. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available with 48 hours advance notice.

This was an amazing experience. The weather was cold and windy, but the rain held off and it was a beautiful and inspiring float down the river. The guide (owner) was very experienced and knowledgeable. We saw several eagles and learned about them. Overall a great time.

Thanks for this kind review. I was your guide that day and I love to be out on the river, whatever the weather. I'm so glad you used the word "inspirational" to describe this trip. I was inspired when I first floated through the Bald Eagle Preserve in 1986 and I still get inspired every time I am on the river. It is an amazing place and the raft allows you to get away from the road and into a true wilderness. We hope you return for more fun with Rainbow Glacier Adventures.

We were picked up right by the dock. There were 12 participants in our van. The driver was very knowledgeable of the area and explained the steps our excursion would follow. Heavy waterproof boots and life vests were provided. We were given a sack lunch for which we could request vegetarian if necessary. We were able to leave our possessions on the van with the driver so we did not have to be concerned about loosing anything. The river guides made it a really fun trip. Our raft had children as well as older adults so it can easily be enjoyed by the inexperienced and not so physically fit. The guide assured us that the company was fully aware of the ship’s departure time and we need not be concerned, even though this was not one of the ship’s shore excursions. Would definitely recommend it!

Thanks for this kind review. It is nice that you explained the various aspects of our tour from the viewpoint of someone interested in signing up for a trip in the future. We don't run big group tours, so we don't contract directly with the big ships. But we are well aware of the ships' schedules and always return on time for the ship departure.
