This tour takes you to 5 locations. The first location is good, you will get to try a meat pie. The second location is to a candy store, we were given a praline which was ok and maybe valued at a $1. The third location is to a tea store. We were given some spiced crackers and a 20% coupon to use at the store. My daughter had stopped earlier at the store and got most of samples given at the tour for free . The next two stops were ok but not worth $85

Dena was a knowledgeable and thoughtful guide. The day was blazing hot, and she took care of my special needs (gluten-free food), as well as those of an elderly couple that gamely tried to keep up but petered out after one stop. For the rest of the tour, she collected their food samples to go at each step. There was a wide variety of food, and they even talked about and had us sample spices and how barbecue spices come from the enslaved people from Africa. We enjoyed the food and even learned a bit about Charleston's special architecture and visited a dueling alley. Dena also gave us a list of Charleston's best restaurants and an explanation of how Charleston became known as a premier food destination.
